Pros

- Work alongside incredibly talented industry veterans from around the world. - Treated with the same level of respect regardless of your internal rank or title. - Everyone, again regardless of rank, has the same ability to push through organisational reform and change. - Represent a product and company that the market is genuinely excited to learn more about.

Cons

- Sometimes easy to forget to switch off from work in the evenings. - Sales & marketing need to be better aligned. Progress is being made but there is still room for improvement.

Hello! Thank you for sharing your thoughts about working with GitLab, I am so glad to hear that it’s been going well. Especially when working remotely for the first time, I completely agree that it can be tricky to close the computer and truly turn off at the end of the day, but it is so important for preventing burnout! Please feel free to lean on more senior team members for tips on how they manage this! Pros

Best company I've ever worked for. Strong culture, great leadership, competitive compensation, excellent work life balance, and a genuine focus on employee well being and career growth.

Cons

Fast paced environment and high expectations, but that's part of working at a successful, growing company.

Pros

OK pay or benefits in the market. Fully remote. Still is trying to frame itself as a big player.

Cons

Leadership went from being collaborative, communicative, and transparent, to being mercurial, secretive, and out of touch with the actual work. OBSESSSES over your AI usage metrics - even if AI doesn't help you and slows you down. The current layoff in progress was communicated poorly and not planned at all. And now they want us to adore the leaders and the company? Cultish vibes. We went from a company that plans ahead to a company that reacts.
