Pros

Good medical benefits, but pay is average at best. Decent work/life blend.

Cons

No perks like car, phone or mileage stipends for the position I was in, but some other position get it. Doesn’t make much sense. Also no real room for advancement since there is a core group of kool-aid drinkers that they keep creating position within the company to advance their careers. If you don’t buy into everything they say, you will stay in your position indefinitely. Management is an absolute mess. They micromanage to the point they are out of touch with reality. Management is hard to reach and when you do they usually don’t have an answer for you if you’re having a problem. They ask you questions as a game for you to figure out a solution on your own. The managers in the Warrendale/Cleveland location are clueless and very condescending, one in particular. Everyone always passed the buck, from installers to operations to sales and general managers. Issues always fall back on the sales staff, no matter where fault lies. Also in recent years, they have gone to mostly subcontracting installations which has been catastrophic because the subs just do not care about the quality of work. When I first started there, the claim to fame was that everybody was a Guardian employee, and we didn’t sub any work out. Installations were fantastic. You know who was installing the jobs that you sold and things were done with quality and integrity. Now they don’t care much about quality. It used to have more of a family feeling and everyone had each other’s back. Not anymore and that’s sad, really sad. Big corporate has taken over and moved the whole feeling of the company in a dark direction.

Pros

Work-life balance is nice, very human and enjoyable staff/management, a culture of community

Cons

Weekends off are hard to come by due to the nature of the job. But PTO is available and management is flexible

Pros

Comprehensive benefits Generous amount of PTO

Cons

Income does not match current cost of living. Work could be completely remote, but isn’t. If you perform well, more will be asked of you with no compensatory incentive. Poor transitions during company acquisitions. Toxic hierarchal work environment.
