Pros
Work environment is very pleasant, integrating the good parts of tech culture and automotive culture. Many interesting products to work on spanning many areas including systems, connectivity, cloud, etc. Coworkers generally have a great mixture of intelligence and friendliness. North American offices collaborate well. Tech stack relatively modern for an automotive supplier.
Cons
Company seems to have trouble determining long-term vision. If such a vision exists, it is not made known to employees. Management is very inconsistent in terms of ability. A noticeable amount of management does not think long-term. Politics (not just organizational issues) definitely exist and this seems to be considered "acceptable" by much of management. Many development teams, processes, technologies are silo'ed across the company, especially across continental regions. Quality and (especially) security does not seem to have strong upper management support. There's the old mantra: "Cheap. Fast. Good. Pick 2". Harman has definitely picked the former two.
