Pros
Starting as a Senior Project Architect in HMC, I had the opportunity to join the community-focused projects that support local agencies and neighborhood areas. Even though the project starting the design phases for a while, all the team members are welcoming to the new arriver and helping on providing all kinds of helps to help the new team member on getting familiarize the project.
Beyond “design for good,” what truly enhanced the experience was HMC’s strong, collaborative culture. The firm encourages teamwork, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing. Even though I joined the company less than a year, I have actively participated in various professional development programs, and social activities that strengthened cross-office connections and built a genuine sense of community.
The collaborative atmosphere across disciplines creates opportunities to learn from talented professionals with diverse expertise, from design to technical aspects. I am impressed with Ontario office surrounding here, and I am proud of joining in HMC as well.
Cons
Like many design-focused firms, projects can involve tight deadlines and fast-paced schedules. At times, balancing multiple priorities across projects requires strong time management and adaptability. However, these challenges also create valuable opportunities for growth and leadership development.
