Pros

Beautiful work location, prestigious magazines

Cons

Staff cuts means everyone is doing the work of 2 or 3 other people who got fired. Salaries are rapidly sinking because, as HR likes to say, "the industry is recalibrating." There is no value in having 20+ years experience and the salary commensurate with that; Hearst hires junior people at low salaries and doesn't care about the quality of work they can provide.

Pros

I love working at Hearst in the Baltimore, Maryland market. I have worked for many radio stations over the past nearly 40 years and this is one of the best companies as far as working environment. I really feel cared for here.

Cons

On a personal level, I've had a hard time getting full time employment within the company, which is discouraging. Also, it takes forever for management to make hiring decisions.
