Pros

Competitive pay for the sector, employees (on the ground at least) who really care.

Cons

Organisation makes decisions which result in terrible service to the tenants. It was embarrassing trying to defend such poor service and their catastrophically brutal budget cuts. There seems to constantly be a restructure, each one starts just as staff are getting used to new way of working and before anyone has really had a chance to see if it works. I left just over a year ago in the last restructure (voluntarily I might add) and there is already another restructure happening again. This constant uncertainty is not conducive to an emotionally healthy place to work. All the perks (flexi time, office hours, every weekend off) went in the last restructure with no pay increase to soften the blow. After being there for 10 years employees gradually felt less and less cares about and more of a number of a commodity which can easily be replaced.

Hi Thanks for adding your review about working at Home Group. It is good to hear how much your colleagues made a difference to your role. Colleague camaraderie has a very high response on our annual Great Place to Work Survey (did you know we are 33rd best place to work in the UK this year). Our customer feedback scores are consistently high too, but we know we don’t get it right all the time, so we always strive to continue improving. Home Group has been around for over 80 years, but that has only been possible by regularly reviewing and reshaping our proposition. Organisations that fail to change fail to survive, but we acknowledge that this can be painful at times! If you would like to have a chat about your experience of working at Home Group, then I would welcome that. Email me at recruitment@homegroup.org.uk with your contact details and we can arrange a call. Thanks Simone

Hi There, thanks for your 5 star review. While I am so glad you worked with lovely friendly colleagues. I am utterly disheartened to hear about your experience with our resident! As you will likely know, Home Group has set an objective to be an ED&I global exemplar. In late 2021 we launched our "No Home for Hate" charter in collaboration with customers and colleagues. This charter clearly spells out what kind of behaviour is unacceptable with guidelines on what steps to take in regards to reporting and taking action. No one should suffer this kind of treatment anywhere, never mind the workplace and especially not our workplace! Regards Simone

Hello and thank you for leaving us your review. Thanks for sharing your feedback that there is great flexibility at Home Group, good training opportunities and that we are inclusive! This is really important to us! We value each and every colleague for who they are and the contribution that they bring to our customers. We're sorry to hear that you felt your team were short staffed and lacked a clinical lead and ask if you are happy to tell us more, to get in touch at recruitment@homegroup.org.uk. As you know we pay the living wage, whereas many organisations only pay the national minimum wage. We also have an annual pay award, mutual bonus payment, amongst a wide range of other benefits. We have also recently introduced a health cash plan, saving colleagues from £1140 per annum on healthcare costs including dentists, prescriptions, opticians and much more. Many thanks, Susan
