Low salary, no flexibility on that. The business isn't doing well, so you probably can't count on a raise.
There are no female creatives in higher positions. The entire design team is made up of white men, with the exception of 2 people. Very heavily male office, and the culture reflects that. Sexist comments and the classic male behavior (interrupting, condescending) can be expected.
As a designer of any level, you will be expected to stay late almost every day. You do not get paid for overtime.
The design area of the office plays really loud music all day, every day. People are constantly shouting to be heard over the music. So if you are someone who likes to get work done in a calm and quiet environment, this is definitely not the place for you (even with headphones in).
There is one particular designer who makes work miserable for the new juniors coming in. Think everything from mean verbal comments to taking credit for your work to taking you off projects that he wants to be on.
There is definitely some great talent in the design team but this is not a place for a young designer to be mentored and to learn and grow. You will be building decks.
You won’t get your hands on any “sexy” branding projects until years in. Nor will you get to speak in client meetings.
