Pros

Overview: If you want to work somewhere where your efforts make a direct impact on not only a company but an industry then this is the type of place you want to work!!! - Revolutionizing an industry. - Everyone's voice is heard. - Developmental growth is a huge focus - Ability to grow within the company based on your strengths. - Team environment feels more like a family than a job with coworkers. - Encourages creative thinking - Opportunity to take ownership of projects Personal Experience: I've been with the company for 3 years now. It hasn't always been easy as we've had a lot at stake at certain periods throughout our growth - as any startup does. All of those hardships, hours, obstacles to overcome, victories, successes, product changes, etc have been bonding experiences that have helped me to personally grow as an individual in my career. Yep, that's right, my career. JOOR is the type of company that invests in their employees b/c we want to grow and develop and promote from within. In what other organization would I get to have ownership of an entire department of a company that is single handedly revolutionizing an entire industry?! My CEO takes a genuine interest in how I am professionally developing, pushes me to be better, offers help where needed, guides me in the right direction to success - better yet, sets me up for success by discussing goals and common objectives and then lets me have full reign on developing my plan on how to get myself and my team there. Along with all of the perks of working at this super cool startup (snacks, parties, happy hours, work travel, etc) comes the personal developmental growth & LIFE lessons that will have forever impacted me and molded me as an adult (quickly approaching my 30th year). I've easily mastered a MBA by working here for 3 years just by getting to work directly with my CEO and contributing to the growth of our company from it's baby years where we all did everything to now where we've become more structured within our crafts. To see our product visions develop, come to life, evolve, perfect is so rewarding!! To know that I am helping professionals I care so much about streamline their buying process and make their lives easier on a daily basis is rewarding. To know that my work has meaning, is rewarding! I feel privileged to work not only along side the ridiculously smart people that work here but to see the evolution of our business & product. Along with this high reward of making an impact on a company AND an industry comes the work that goes into that to make AN IMPACT. Modern day, our hours are on average 9:30-7:30pm --- who in NYC that is ambitious and driven isn't working those hours?! There are times where we are in season and have more on our plates but why wouldn't you want to own part of the company as your own and make sure the product is flawless? If you're owning something wouldn't you want to make it the best it can be? In order to make that industry impact a lot of hard work goes into it - Rome wasn't built in a day, people!! If you're the type of person who doesn't need to be told what to do and how to do it then this is the place to work. If you're overly sensitive, lacking a certain level of drive, have thin skin, can't handle a little hustle and bustle - then maybe NYC isn't the city for you. If you're really driven, passionate, hungry for ownership & want to be a part of something really grand - this is the place you want to work.

Cons

No 401K - but there are so many other ways to save money these days that I almost prefer not to have this.

Pros

I am very appreciative of my time at JOOR. Working at JOOR over the course of the last 4 years has been a really rewarding experience. Leadership is approachable and open to feedback, and they’ve created an environment where people feel valued. I’ve had plenty of opportunities to grow professionally, whether through mentorship, new responsibilities, or just being encouraged to bring ideas to the table. The company also does a great job of maintaining work-life balance. Thanks again for 4 amazing years.

Cons

No place is perfect, but most of the challenges here are normal growing pains or things leadership is actively working to improve.
