Look you can rant and rave that Kind is really “Kind” to its employees. In fact you are correct, they are really upfront to all employees until you start questioning stategies and Company direction. It’s a 10+ year old company that still suffers thinking it can grow based on name and word of mouth. The company has stunted in growth for a few years now, that’s with advertising on TV. Goals for bonuses are unreachable and employee turnover is really high. Now with the partnership with Mars things will shake up, most partnerships do as Mars owns Kind shares. So as an investor they will push for change. Stakeholders want to make money and so they will make changes, even though leadership now says there won’t be. On top of that Portfolio (sku list) is massively big. That’s due to the fact that the company believes that new products are totally incremental. It’s not. The years of massive growth have stunted, so now the company falls to innovation which is just really cannibalizing base business. So if you are looking to join a growing team. Look elsewhere. Next on the con list, work from home flexibility. It doesn’t exist. Office attendance is a must no matter the case. The leadership team demands if you can’t be at the office you call in sick. Every job posting says lots of flex etc. It just means you can take a sick day whenever and that you can work from the office couch or outside the office on the street chairs. So make sure you have a shovel and rain boots cause you essentially work for a makeshift post office. When other companies have embraced WFH, Kind insists you can only be productive in the office. I guess Skype, or google don’t exist. It’s mostly due to th leadership being a bit long in the tooth. They walk around the office making sure everyone is there even during summer Fridays. I recalled friends of mine who took 2 hours commuting to the office. That’s 4 hours commute just to work 4 hours in the office. Flexibility is just a way to grab talent from other job pools. It’s really a transparent term. Be cautious with applying. On top of that pay is below average compared to other companies. Don’t be wow’d by Bonus and stock equity. Make sure your base is what you want cause bonus isn’t a promised and equity isn’t much vs the people that started there 5-10 years ago.
