Pros
Good starting base salary. Great training program. Opportunity to oversee your own territory. sales calls 3 days a week get you out of the office.
Cons
The pay structure favors those that suck as sales - you make a decent base salary, however the commission rate is very low compared to other comparable hardware companies. So if you're good at sales and closing alot of deals, your commission does not linearly reflect that. It doesn't incentivize people to crush it like they'd like because the reward isnt necessarily there. Also if you want to move up the ranks by drinking the coolaid to be a manager babysitting people one day, this job is for you - if you pay your dos, show ethic, the company only hires from within so one day you'll likely eventually get there. However you are just a cog in the machine. Not a lot of opportunity to feel like you really have any influence in the way the company is run. This is a Japanese run company that makes the rules and you are rewarded for following them without deviating. So if you want a job where you feel you have alot of influence and are unique, this is probably not your place to make a lifelong career. If you want a career that pays pretty decent and is safe and secure and won't rock the boat much, welcome home.
