Pros

Great company culture and work that makes a difference in people’s lives. Company paid college with no out of pocket for employees. This is not a reimbursement program, but is paid directly by Labcorp to the institution. Excellent company benefits, supportive senior leaders, and plenty of opportunity to advance your career.

Cons

Lab medicine takes place 24/7/365, so there may be evening or night work, but you will receive a shift differential. Entry level positions are hard work and extremely fast paced, but skilled and technical positions are well paid, respected, and have a lot of opportunity for advancement into leadership roles if you so choose.

Pros

It has taught me what I do not want in an employer It gave me experience for way better opportunities It made me realize that being a good worker doesn’t always mean being rewarded

Cons

When injured from being overworked and exhausted , they treated me like trash When compassion fatigue hit— they judged and questioned whether I belonged there rather than understood People make up rumors about you even if you didn’t do anything (it’s like a catty high school in there) Having one bad day constitutes you getting pulled in the office to be scolded If you’re a good worker, and you get your stuff done efficiently, they stuff you with more work Many individuals treat the animals like trash and are covered up by management if they are the “favorites” Most of the trainers there are absolutely catty people and will talk behind your back if you’re “too slow” or “not learning fast enough”
