Dirty politics at leadership level. - Software Engineer Manager LexisNexis Risk Solutions Employee Review

Pros

There are none any more. Worst company for work for.

Cons

My time in leadership here was one of the worst experiences of my career. The culture is deeply dysfunctional—people are treated as expendable, and senior leadership consistently avoids accountability by shifting blame onto others for their own poor decisions. Internal politics, favoritism, and finger-pointing are the norm, creating a toxic environment where doing the right thing is often penalized rather than rewarded, and even HR is not seen as a neutral or supportive function, which further erodes trust across the organization. I did everything I could to shield my team from this behavior, but ultimately it became unsustainable and damaging to my well-being. I am in much peace to not work there anymore to protect my sanity, and in hindsight, I would have escalated these issues much earlier.

Pros

The company has a strong market position and the work is genuinely meaningful. The data and risk solutions space is interesting and the business has real substance behind it. Colleagues are generally knowledgeable and willing to help when you can find the right people.

Cons

Onboarding is largely sink-or-swim. New hires inherit work in progress without adequate context, documentation, or ramp-up support. Access to the tools, data, and systems you need to do your job can take weeks to materialize, which puts you behind before you even get started. There’s an expectation of immediate execution without the infrastructure to support it, and little formal process for how campaigns or projects are handed off.
