I worked at LexisNexis Risk Solutions full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Believing in the products and services that you sell and the company you represent which you will for the most part here. The clientel was more than what one could expect or want to work with; they were all fabulous.
The money is great in total accumulation of base, commission and rewards/bonuses. The benefits were also appealing.

    Cons

It is such a large company that many get lost or really never known and even when you are the or one of the top producers you will still possibly find yourself as just another indespensible employee that can and will be replaced.

    Pros

Steady paycheck and dependable revenue stream with little chance of layoffs.

    Cons

Infrastructure and methodologies are old school.

    Advice to Management

Live in the 21st Century. Use new management techniques and update your aging technology. People are an asset, treat them as such.

    Pros

Good people, good environment, overall a great experience.

    Cons

Great company, but think long term and most importantly value your customers more.

    Advice to Management

Focus, to sum it up, you have solutions which are great, but you have to keep staff who can support them, implement them in a timely manner and most importantly you have to update some things if you want to stay current and relevant, keep up with the technology in real time.

I have been working at LexisNexis Risk Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedules, telecommute options, good benefits, professional environment, great people.

    Cons

The pay scale for a senior technical writer is literally in the bottom 2% for tech writer salaries in the nation.

    Advice to Management

Instead of hosting monthly catered employee-appreciation events, pay your people better. There is a certain hypocrisy in boasting double-digit growth while having some of the lowest salaries in the nation for a given position.

I worked at LexisNexis Risk Solutions full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

LN Risk Solutions is a great company with leaders who are completely vested in what they can and will do over the next 5-10 years. Their tactical leadership on the ball when it comes to industry knowledge and how analytics applies to it. Their executive leadership is not afraid to take risks and profess Huge goals that the employees can get behind (top to bottom).

    Cons

Work life balance is more of an exception than the norm. Although that can be counteracted with the option to be a full time home based employee, it still doesn't justify the groups within the company that do nothing t believe in it or are afraid to implement it.
The pay is below industry standard, even for the Atlanta area.
The medical benefits are the WORST that I have ever encountered in my professional career. You might as well use the ACA.

    Advice to Management

In order to have a viable succession plan and attract the right talent long term, you have to provide better pay, better benefits, and more flexible work options for office employees. Everyone doesn't live in Alpharetta, and with recent traffic problems in the Atlanta area, finding talent outside of Alpharetta will be more difficult now.

    Pros

Super flexible work hours. Plenty of opportunities to take initiative and learn new things. Management does not micromanage, but is very supportive. Everyone has a very willing attitude. Work flows smoothly.

    Cons

Everyone is very kind, but socially the office is awkward and most people avoid personal interaction. Even as an introvert, in a position that doesn't require constant collaboration, I'm starved for human contact by the end of the day.

I worked at LexisNexis Risk Solutions full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Strong core competencies around data and analytics. The company is naturally positioned for sustained growth in an up or down business cycle. It succeeds in spite of itself.

    Cons

Poor leadership. The company undertook a substantial reorganization Jan 1, 2016, and they shuffled the deck, but didn't think much about the reordering of it. Essentially, staff were moved around capriciously and then left to figure out how to "make it work" on their own--without cohesive vision nor strategic planning. It was a disaster.

    Advice to Management

Reshuffle your own deck. Get a new CEO. Replace Business Services president.

    Pros

Flexible schedule, strong upper management, work from home and travel opportunities. Company is expanding its international segment and has strong growth within its parent company, RELX group.

    Cons

    None, for the most part.

    Advice to Management

Keep growing and expanding internationally and rewarding your top performers.

    Pros

Generous PTO and company holidays. Company values its employees and gives back to the community. Casual dress code.

    Cons

The Duluth office is in desperate need of renovations. Not a professional atmosphere, which for some could be a pro or a con.

    Advice to Management

Managers are placed in cubicles, and conversations that should be private are overheard by other employees.
