Not Good Enough - Manager Litera Microsystems Employee Review

Pros

There are some really great people that work here, and really want to see the continued successes that they're used to.

Cons

Communication across the company falls unacceptably short of expectation, either through rose-tinted glasses or blindfolds. People closer to the weeds are constantly being disrupted from their day-2-day duties, from the reckless migrations from essential tools and processes to bloated, counter-intuitive, generic alternatives. There's complete uncertainty of a company direction, with the rash replacement or removal of essential roles, or just failing to properly communicate layoffs, leaving everyone on edge following a regularly scheduled company meeting.

Thank you for your review. We are working to better communicate our company direction. During our 2023 kickoff event Litera focused on aligning the global organization around our rally cry and rally cry objectives. All of our employees should be aware how their work impacts these objectives and ultimately our customers.

Pros

As a new employee, I have been given full autonomy to make thoughtful and strategic decisions. I appreciate that they have leaned into doing things differently and open to new ideas. I have had the opportunity to work with the ELT members and have been pleasantly surprised how accessible they are when requested for support. The CEO even did a 1 hour meeting with all new hires about the history of Litera, where we are now and where we are looking to go. To get time with the CEO in that capacity, was very unique and special as a new employee.

Cons

The company moves fast and if you are not one who can keep pace, you will fall behind. Not necessarily a con but a fact. People like me, who like fast pace environments, will thrive here.

It’s great to hear you’ve felt empowered with autonomy and that the openness to new ideas is coming through. We’re especially glad the accessibility of our leadership team stood out, including your time with the CEO. That’s something we’re intentional about. You’re right, the pace here is fast, and we appreciate your perspective on balancing speed with execution.
