Pros
Some of the people are wonderful, but most of them aren't around anymore. Unlimited PTO and very flexible schedule allowances.
Cons
Medidata has been going through a mass exodus of talent since 2019 and it hasn't slowed. There are a ton of reasons why, but here are some: - management is 9x out of 10 incompetent at best, outright tyrannical at worst (there are some gems, but they're hard to find and they're stressed) - diversity and inclusion efforts are used as puff pieces for executives, despite a ton of work being accomplished by lower-level employees - bad behavior is rewarded with promotions and babysitting (no one is ever let go regardless of their track record/tons of substantially-less-than-brilliant jerks) - pay isn't competitive/doesn't scale (you can work here for a few years and make as much money as someone who just started) - no space or care for bottom-up feedback on company processes/projects/etc (lots of executive language about the Medidata "family," but no one cares what anyone below SVP rank has to say and they make that very clear) - Executives hire their pharma friends in high places, so internal employees don't really have a good chance at climbing ladders or seeing women or BIPOC in senior leadership - Major emphasis on offshore engineering, which puts a huge strain on talented engineers in the US
