Pros

Paycheck and lifestyle. As with most pharma companies, you can expect to be micro-managed, but at least Schering is still using paper for signitures so you can't be tracked like a UPS man.

Cons

The pharma industry in general. Layoffs are and will be happening more and more. The way I look at Schering, and the entire pharmaceutical industry, is that they have you trapped. What I mean is, they pay nice salaries, give you a car, good benefits. But management is constantly on top of you when bogus market sahre numbers come down which in most cases you can't even control. This is NOT a true sales job. You are very rarely selling anything. Now you are lucky to get more than 2 minutes with a doctor and you are definitely not respected.

Pros

Work from home (that may not always be a perk, but it is now for writers), choice of flexible hours (7 AM - 9 AM starting), friendly, helpful people, great bosses, people very interested in their jobs, plus a lot of educational benefits, you are trained on all aspects of Merck and your job.

Cons

I cannot think of any, though sometimes work from home has its drawbacks, because the employee doesn't get all the information that an onsite employee would.
