Pros

When I was looking for a job, I wanted to find a place that shared a lot of my values on a personal level and for an environment that I could be excited to be a part of, and I absolutely found that here at Methodist. It is so rare to find an employer who genuinely cares about their people and where the CEO of the whole system is constantly on the move, making rounds, talking to people, and just being present. There are so many opportunities for employee engagement, community outreach, and professional growth. I am someone who hates job hopping and really wanted to find a place where I could be loyal to and that I felt loyalty back from, and I really do feel like Methodist is that place. It is so cool seeing so many people with different colored badges, based on tenure, because it tells me that if this many people are willing to stick around this long, it must actually be something special; and so far, it has been. I am very happy being part of this organization and recommend it to all who are looking!

Cons

Some benefits could be a little better but are competitive to the industry.

Pros

Coming from a smaller size hospital but big company like Methodist and known high paying hospital in DFW, I needed more shifts. Since MDMC is bigger than my other PRN, I have higher chance of getting shifts because there are more monitoring stations, more staff taking PTOs, higher chance of staff calling out sick and therefore opening the shift, etc.

Cons

More workload and higher census! Almost 50 patients on heart monitor per station.

We're glad to hear that the flexibility and availability of shifts have been a benefit for you. As one of the region's largest health systems, Methodist offers opportunities that can help PRN team members find the schedule that works best for them. We also recognize that higher patient volumes and workload expectations can come with working in a busy, high-acuity environment. Supporting our team members remains a priority, and we continually evaluate our compensation programs and workplace resources to remain competitive and help our employees succeed. Thank you for the important role you play in caring for our patients and for being a valued member of the Methodist family.
