Pros

Methodist takes the time to develop employees by offering a myriad of different opportunities. There are leadership programs, free courses offered through Methodist University to employees, ways to be involved with current projects, a way to share ideas with management and above, and much more. What really stands out is the culture, from day one I felt immediately welcomed into the Methodist family! Methodist puts employees first and takes time to make sure you feel valued.

Cons

As with any large system, some things take time. Going through the proper channels is necessary albeit somewhat tedious.

Pros

Coming from a smaller size hospital but big company like Methodist and known high paying hospital in DFW, I needed more shifts. Since MDMC is bigger than my other PRN, I have higher chance of getting shifts because there are more monitoring stations, more staff taking PTOs, higher chance of staff calling out sick and therefore opening the shift, etc.

Cons

More workload and higher census! Almost 50 patients on heart monitor per station.
