Pros

great staffing, exellent nurse to patient ratio, great pay raises, opportunities to get bonuses with the career advancement program.

Cons

HR does not help nurses. HR backs up management, and although there is an open door policy with upper management, they will not help you. All management sticks together.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback and for recognizing how hard we work to provide competitive pay raises, bonus opportunities, and excellent nurse-to-patient ratios. Most important, nursing is a demanding career and we appreciate your dedication to our patients. Our goal is to be supportive to our staff and open to new ideas, so we would like to learn more about your experience with our human resources department. If you’d like to share specific issues or provide ideas, please email us confidentially at hrcareer@mhd.com.

Pros

Coming from a smaller size hospital but big company like Methodist and known high paying hospital in DFW, I needed more shifts. Since MDMC is bigger than my other PRN, I have higher chance of getting shifts because there are more monitoring stations, more staff taking PTOs, higher chance of staff calling out sick and therefore opening the shift, etc.

Cons

More workload and higher census! Almost 50 patients on heart monitor per station.

We're glad to hear that the flexibility and availability of shifts have been a benefit for you. As one of the region's largest health systems, Methodist offers opportunities that can help PRN team members find the schedule that works best for them. We also recognize that higher patient volumes and workload expectations can come with working in a busy, high-acuity environment. Supporting our team members remains a priority, and we continually evaluate our compensation programs and workplace resources to remain competitive and help our employees succeed. Thank you for the important role you play in caring for our patients and for being a valued member of the Methodist family.
