This is definitely a company with no ethics.
In case you agree to work with them, do just what they ask you to do. Do not put any single extra effort because apparently after some point they see all of the extra effort you put as your main job responsibility.
If you are working under a contract, this is not the best place to work. There's a huge difference against contractors compared to full time employees. Even though my BISO and CISO did their best to reduce this difference for contractors, they can't do more than what's allowed...
Well, here are my observations as a contractor:
They terminate your contract without any justification in a random day.
The company makes budget adjustments all the time, shutting down the projects, offices... If you are a contractor you shouldn't trust this company and take important decisions in your life.
My suggestion is for you to have different clients and work with them as "one of your clients" but not as the only client.
I am told about low performance, they tried to find excuses that made nonsense to me, and I would be put into performance improvement plan for 2 weeks. The next day after that meeting I woke up and noticed all of my accesses are blocked and they basically terminated my contract without any justification, without any pre-notification.
Zero communication with HR, zero communication with no one. The only way I found out they terminate my contact was losing my access and last meeting I had with BISO telling me about low performance.
This company is always looking for gaps to make more money and reduce their expenses.
I noticed they fire someone or a group of people every 5 - 6 months. And that someone is mostly a highly intelligent person who work as an engineer.
I had genuine trust to managers in my area (cyber security) and I was even happy and appreciated my managers all the time, they were the best managers I've ever seen in my whole life, but I wasn't expecting from a formal looking corporation to terminate agreements in one random day without any justification or doing it in a formal, appropriate way. I'm disappointed with my experience and I also feel like it was sort of discrimination that's why they didn't care to do it in an appropriate way.
