Pros
* Excellent mid-level managers who genuinely care for their employees: taking the time to train and mentor, know and understand the person, not just the employee
* Collaborative environment: you get to work with everyone
* Ability to customize your career path
* Ability to work remotely as needed
Cons
* Generally poor communication from other international divisions, especially headquarters
* No overall vision for the company from HQ (at least not communicated to other divisions)
* Company-wide decisions often made purely on an economic basis (read: anything cheaper is perceived to be better), discounting the long term benefits to more costly alternatives
* HQ can, at times, disregard the insight and experience of internal experts in favor of the pre-selected and preferred pathway.
