HORRIBLE UPPER MANAGEMENT - Office Manager Northside Hospital Employee Review

Pros

The fact that they offer a pension plan

Cons

Horrible upper management overseeing formerly private practices. Worst experience with these so called "professionals." Run a hospital that claims to be non-profit, "for the people", yet low salaries and higher management making all the profit. Worst billing office I have ever experienced. DO not work or go to this hospital.

Pros

Working as a unit secretary at Northside has been a very positive experience overall. The work environment is supportive, and having an effective and approachable manager makes a big difference in daily operations. There is a strong sense of teamwork on the unit, and staff members work together regardless of job title to make sure patients and coworkers are supported. Employees are often recognized and celebrated for their hard work, which helps create a motivating atmosphere. The organization also provides ongoing training opportunities, making it easy to continue learning and improving professionally. Leadership maintains an open-door policy, so staff feel comfortable communicating concerns or ideas. There are many opportunities for growth within the organization, along with good benefits and a culture that encourages a healthy work-life balance.

Cons

One drawback is that employees are required to give a 30-day notice if they want to remain eligible for rehire, which is longer than the standard two-week notice many organizations expect. This can make it challenging for employees who receive new opportunities that require a quicker start date. Additionally, unused PTO cannot be cashed out when leaving the company, which may feel discouraging for employees who have accrued time off but are unable to use it before their departure.
