      This job is great for gaining experience in research or at a government agencies. Since you are welcomed into a research environment or government office, you are treated for the most part the same as a government employee and are given good mentorship and opportunities as such.

      Cons

      Lack of medical benefits. You also have to file your own income taxes.

      Better pay than average for graduate students Good freedom and flexibility

      Cons

      Poor communication and organization from management led to missed pay on multiple occasions. This falls more on ORISE mentors than on ORISE management itself. Liability concerns restricted research opportunities
