Pros

1) If you are planning to immigrate to New Zealand it is worth trying to get an employment offer from Planit as they are one of the accredited employers. I believe they will organize work visas, flight tickets, initial temporary accommodation, etc. 2) Your experience will largely depend on which client you are working with. Some clients have a good work environment and some of their clients have a toxic work environment. Please remember you will be working on-site in the client location. Please remember Planit does not have control or influence over the work environment in the client location. 3) They have some large customers with long-term project engagements. 4) Salary raise based on inflation without going through any performance evaluation process. 5) Health Insurance Policy.

Cons

1) Most of the people working in middle and executive management roles have immigrated from the United Kingdom. Cronyism and nepotism are very much prevalent in this organization. They mostly hire their friends, relatives, and former colleagues from the United Kingdom for middle and executive management roles. Most of these people are incompetent, lazy, bullies, and openly racist. I have observed these people spend their time gossiping, watching funny Youtube videos, etc all day along in their corporate office in Auckland. I felt like they have immigrated to New Zealand to live a stress-free semi-retired life. 2) Most of the workers were from third-world countries such as the Philippines. The Planit visits Singapore every day to bulk hire immigrants working in the banking industry. Since it is difficult to get permanent residency in Singapore these immigrants are desperate for permanent residency either in Australia and New Zealand. They are willing to work hard and flexible to relocate to any place. They sign the contract to work for Planit for a few years. They have to pay a penalty if quit the job before the contract ends. Planit is a body shopping company that considers these workers as nothing but commodities who can be leased out to the client companies and billed at an hourly rate. Planit rarely hires people locally in New Zealand and Australia except for junior graduate roles. 3) The company is obsessed with useless certifications such as ISTQB etc. They force their workers to do these certifications. They also have training courses which are taught by trainers who have no recent industry experience. I attended some of these training programs for free but I wouldn't pay for these courses as I found they lack substance and are of no practical use whatsoever.

Pros

Some great colleagues on the ground.

Cons

I honestly don't know where to start. [Do not believe the 4 and 5* reviews, Planit regularly harass employees into giving these positive reviews to raise the average score (I still have the email evidence of this)]. - No training on market requirement. Instead people who haven't really been on the ground for decades decide, and even then rather than use tried and tested established training they chose to go out and build their own based on their lack of understanding. Go forbid you pay for your own relevant training, it's taken as an offence. - The level of misogyny is at levels not seen since the 1970s (union rep shocked at what they saw). - People are told that there are "no finances for promotion", but then watch as promotions are given to friends of the CxO levels. - Salary is paid 2 weeks in advance and 2 in arrears, making leaving a financial nightmare. - Salaries are WAY too high, again making leaving a nightmare. - No modern leadership. - Current board is made up of people who think EXACTLY the same way, meaning it is nothing more than a bunch of people egging each other on. - No checks and balances. - No accountability. - Micromanagement and bullying. - We all believed that when NRI took over the business would go from the Boys Club Start-Up mentality to a professional organisation. It did not. The existing board was allowed to carry on regardless. - The UK office has all but collapsed because the board refused to diversify from Retail clients. - Innovation is stifled. With ideas often shelved for significant periods of time before someone at board or director level "innovating" by using the same idea and even presentations without credit or acknowledgement to the original innovator. - Base mentality is "If we can get away with it we will" - NRI doesn't seem interested in the Northern Hemisphere market at all. - On hiring you'll be told about "great benefits", yet no-one below board & director has been paid a bonus in the whole time I worked there, not even when winning substantial business. - HR are not interested in you as a human. If you are in the UK reading this; - Avoid at all costs. The office has been in managed decline for several years now. If it continues to exist in coming years it will only be as an anchor office for offshore testers.
