Pros

WFH was pretty good, but they don't have enough office space for everyone anyway.

Cons

Oh where to begin... - BLATANT SEXISM - QBE brag about their achievements to reach higher "equality" between sexes in the workplace, but how did they get there? By paying the males in the lower levels less than the women based on their sex! I'd not recommend anyone working here, especially males as you will be discriminated against. - UNREALISTIC KPI'S & BONUS STRUCTURE* - KPI's can be very dependent on how much work is actually available, so meeting them consistently can be difficult. *Monthly KPI bonuses are only paid once a year and if you leave even a day before the payment, you will not see a single cent for all of your work over the year.* - HIGH TURNOVER - there's a reason why very few last more than a few months in QBE. Most of my time was spent picking up extra work as people constantly leave. - MASS REDUNDANCIES - since leaving QBE, there have been massive amounts of redundancies made in all departments. People have lost their jobs as a result of higher-ups running the company to the ground. I'm not just talking a couple of roles, I'm talking whole departments. Your job will not likely be safe. - OLD & GLITCHY SOFTWARE - call QBE and ask them what software they use for claim management. Claim management was made difficult due to QBE using very old software (I'm talking decades old). QBE refused to catch up with the modern world. - STAGNANT MOVEMENT - career progression is very slow and there are minimal opportunities to develop your career. I was stuck in a role that I achieved highly in and became bored of, with upper management not offering any development or promotion opportunity when I asked. - OVERWORKED - QBE put my team in a cycle. We were given work to do and once we got used to that work, they'd add more on top of it. This cycle continued until the team would break and people would leave. QBE successfully squeezed every cent's worth of work out of it's employees and did not take accountability for mass burnout. - CUSTOMER ABUSE - no one likes insurance companies, but there is a reason why QBE employee's receive high levels of extreme verbal abuse by customers. QBE employee's are often set up to fail due to poor business processes and decisions. - POLITICS - yes, workplace politics exists everywhere, but the culture at QBE is appalling. People are unhappy in their roles as they are underpaid, undervalued and overworked. This creates a very unhappy and high stress environment. I left QBE some time ago and my life drastically improved in many aspects. Yes, the job market is very competitive, but QBE is not the answer. Do NOT put yourself through this.
