Pros
Rice University is really diversified and tries to match all research need. Also, it provides opportunities for international students.
Cons
I cannot really name any cons, this is a great university! The health insurance for students is expensive and does cover a lot. I believe the police department is a little irresponsible sometimes and this is the only minor I experienced.
