Pros

Get to learn the business and products well. Work with large retail accounts and get experience managing their many brands. Travel for customer visits, trade shows and annual sales meeting. Good medical/dental/401K plan benefits and on-site cafeteria and free coffee.

Cons

Salaries are on the lower side versus comparable companies in the Chicagoland area and much more work involved. Lot of ridiculous penny pinching as well. There is definitely favoritism within the marketing department and you need to know and suck up to the higher ups in order to be promoted. You are expected to be always be responsive on nights and even weekends, even though they pride themselves on their work/life balance and culture. Their products have had recalls recently as well.

Pros

Certain departments offer you the ability to have very good work life balance at entry level positions. People are very nice.

Cons

The financial takeover of this company has cost the jobs of many individuals and I believe it will hurt the performance. The technology employed by this company is prehistoric and they will not spend the money to implement new tech. Leadership is heavily political and there is too much nepotism hiring going on.
