Pros

SCS has a very friendly, engaged culture that stems from the longevity of much of the senior management of the firm. The decision of the founding principals to move SCS to an ESOP firm back in the mid 1980's has created broad ownership of SCS that will facilitate continued growth and opportunity for employees seeking to be leaders within the company. The recent focus on developing young professionals with a formal program designed to better engage the company's younger team members is an excellent example of on of the ways the company is promoting succession and sustainability of the firm and its leadership.

Cons

Fast growth in recent years has presented some challenges.

Pros

Staff is super nice and friendly, lots of field visits, and learning opportunities. As an intern, I never got bored and felt like I learned a lot about solid waste. Company has a lot of opportunities to grow as an engineer.

Cons

Feast and famine culture like any other consulting job but it compliments nicely with field work.
