Pros

Excellent and hardworking working colleagues.

Cons

I'm personally tired of seeing reviews left on here by "yes boss" types trying to inaccurately inflate the flagging Glassdoor review score at the behest of senior management. STEMCELL employees are not naive and appreciate that redundancy and restructuring occurs. However, suggestions are put forward and are outright ignored. I personally worked for STEMCELL for 6 years and put forward plenty of reasonable suggestions to meet the management in the middle, and all of these were shot down. It went downhill ever since the HR Director left and was replaced by the owner's daughter. Funny that. And there are plenty of other non-lab based workers who benefitted from and built their lives around hybrid working. Those who can't see the heart from STEMCELL has disappeared are deluding themselves.

Pros

Good quality products. Dedicated individual contributors, intelligent colleagues.

Cons

Living in a bubble. They still think they are in the 90s. The thinking is painstakingly slow. Senior management including VPs and senior VPs are extremely inbred in their thinking. They are all perfectly aligned in completely wrong direction. They do the bare minimum and some cannot even hold a decent intellectual conversation. There is a ton of favoritism and only yes men get promoted so everyone is ‘aligned’. If you want to do mundane level thinking and kill your creativity and innovative spirit join this company. It has gotten worse in the last few years. Those currently there are dying to leave but just hanging by the last thread just because the current market is so tight that there is nowhere to go. The senior execs are there for 15-20 years no because they are loyal but because they know they cannot find any other employer who would tolerate their slow thinking.
