Pros

I pick the company I work for based who they are, where they are going, and how they are going to get there. Then I decide if I want to be along for the ride and if can I make an impact. 1) is the company in a fast growing industry and market segment? (this indicates there will be opportunity for you and your career can grow as the company grows): SailPoint - yes 2) are they a leader in their market? SailPoint - yes 3) are they innovating and constantly trying to improve? SailPoint - yes 4) does the company have good leadership who understands how to grow and scale a company? have those leaders demonstrated success in the past? SailPoint - yes 5) is the company still at a stage where I can make an impact? SailPoint - yes 6) is the company culture focused? SailPoint - yes 7) are the leaders good people. Do they treat people the right way? SailPoint - yes 8) are decisions made with scale in mind? (this is indication they are building for the long-term and have big plans). SailPoint - yes 9) do they hire smart, effective, and good humans (you want to work with people who get things but also treat people the right way during stressful times)? SailPoint - yes 10) am I proud and lucky to work here? YES!

Cons

Working at a company growing fast at scale takes a lot of hard work. If you aren't up to that, this isn't the place for you.

Pros

Maybe I lucked out, but this is has truly been my dream job. I was hired as a junior-mid level developer (not product), but my experience has been mostly in low-code platforms. I basically get paid 6 figures to learn how to code on the job and I get to participate in cool initiatives. I definitely feel very lucky and grateful and SailPoint's culture 100% contributes to my satisfaction. I get to work from anvwhere in the world, I get a flexible schedule, free lunch, free, good coffee made by a barista on-site, good 401k match, and my boss doesn't care what my schedule is, only what I deliver matters. It's the first time in my career where I feel like l'm being treated like a trusted adult and I'm so happy.

Cons

My experience has been heavily affected by lucking out with my manager. I imagine maybe other managers in the company are not as cool. Stock price is not looking great but it honestly doesn't affect my day-to-day work so I don't really care. Lower salaries compared to other SaaS companies, specifically for Software Engineering.
