Pros

- Platform is easy and intuitive to use. - Flexible hours for those with busy schedules. - Great opportunity to work with young students. - Minimum pre-class preparation.

Cons

- Feedback can be vague, and more focused on improvement than praise. - Only face-to-face interaction is at recruitment. All other interaction is conducted via email or Skype messenger with a revolving door of different staff members. - Non-US citizens/those without a US bank account will be charged SUBSTANTIALLY MORE in transfer fees for wages: something which is not highlighted up front. - Initial training is essentially a box-checking exercise, and no further training is provided (online sharing sessions are occasionally scheduled, but quickly lose focus). - For those who choose this as their sole means of income, it can be difficult to get a full and/or consistent schedule. - Teachers are unlikely to actually earn the $22 per 45 minute lesson that is advertised.

Pros

1) most of the students were very interested in learning 2) parents were very involved in supporting their children to be successful in their lessons 3) parents read the feedback I wrote on their child's progress and were open to suggestions I made to enhance their child's learning 4) The curriculum was from National Geographic and was very interesting for the students and myself 5) It was easy for me to do scaffolding from the lessons to enhance what the students were learning 6) I was able to use my creativity to make the classes more fun for the students 7) The students were generally very smart and well mannered 8) The SAYABC management showed appreciation for the extra effort I made to help the students

Cons

1) because of time zone differences and language barriers it was sometimes hard to get timely support for technical issues and and student behavioral issues (as an example I had a student who once came to class without pants or underwear) 2) because of the time zone differences I sometimes got important emails from the Management at times during my regular sleeping hours.
