I have been working at SayABC part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

SayABC has the best online lessons and teaching platform. The homerooms are well thought out, and I love seeing my students twice as week. The pay is great for an ESL company and the support is wonderful. I truly enjoy everything about teaching with SayABC!

    Cons

Unfortunately, SayABC is not perfect. The attendance policy is beyond strict. Time off requested weeks in advance is treated the same as someone calling out sick for a day. In addition to a poorly thought out attendance policy, SayABC is not always realiable with scheduling. I would like to see more transparency with how schedules are determined. Some teachers with great experience have empty schedules, while newer teachers are fully booked.

    Advice to Management

Please keep up the amazing lesson format! Please continue the homerooms and the bonuses offered!

Please reconsider your very strict attendance policy. Please reconsider how you assign classes to fulfill schedules. I would LOVE to have a full schedule as well as many of the other teachers. I have worked for other ESL online companies and SayABC is great! If you fix the attendance and scheduling policies, you will be the perfect ESL company.

    Pros

Pay is great and on time. Communication is great - they have always gotten back to me in a very timely manner.

    Cons

The 'system' books your classes and even after teaching for them for many months, your teaching schedule may not be as full as you would like.

I have been working at SayABC full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The students are awesome! the bookings in my case are GREAT, I have 3 out of 4 classes every day which is awesome it is the only company I work for and I am able to make the income I need! The support team is always great to me! I always have a kind answer from them, I love the recruiters especially Serena and Jill, who were and are super kind and keep contacting me to see how I am.

    Cons

For me there is one con, choose better mentors, not just the teachers who are active and nice on facebook but also those who have the experience and the satisfaction rate with parents, since, those teachers will be the ones who will guide the new teachers to be happy and engaging with students.

    Advice to Management

I would suggest being more careful when choosing mentors, some of them are pretty rude, they are super sweet on official Facebook pages but not so much in private groups, Even though I know Sayabc has no control of teachers behaviors, Mentors and Ambassadors are the public representatives so it is very important how they behave not only on official pages but also on private ones, a lot of GREAT teachers would love to be part of the mentors but are not given the opportunity that those other teachers were given.

I have been working at SayABC part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The platform is pretty good, there are errors in slides though. The pay isn't bad, but it could be better.

    Cons

They change policies and backdate them essentially holding things that happened before that rules was in effect against you. The bonuses were good but they recently decrease them all except for ONE class time. They will never stand up for you with parents, when they are the ones with errors that cause you to be booted or something else happens, the parents are lead to believe it is the teachers with the problem. You can't take ANY time off or it is held against you. If you don't put time available when you need to be off, you will lose your homerooms. There is NO flexibility. They have recent started putting small classrooms together and the the teacher who lost the student doesn't have that class replaced. New teachers receive ALL the homerooms. There is no loyalty to teachers who have been there for awhile and taught a lot of classes. They blame everything on their computer scheduling system but they will NEVER tell you how it works. What they will tell you isn't correct. I'm tired of not being given classes while new teachers who can't put a sentence together and don't use English as a native language and speak it or write it incorrectly, are GIVEN the classes!!!

    Advice to Management

Give some respect to your teachers. Give classes to senior teachers rather than give them all to brand new teachers. Stop hiring teachers who don't speak English as their native language. If they can't communicate it effectively, they shouldn't teach it. Stand up for teachers once in awhile, stop blaming them. AND not being able to take ANY time off is RIDICULOUS. Do you realize people can't have surgery they need, dental work they need, family event's. Recently a woman's husband passed out and the ambulance came and the woman couldn't even go to the hospital with her husband for fear of losing homerooms. GIVE some RESPECT to your teachers, especially senior ones. And STOP hiring loads of new teachers when you don't have homerooms to give GOOD, senior teachers.

    Pros

I love the kids they are great e

    Cons

They do not schedule many classes at all . They say they need help and you open all your slots and nothing. When you start working you are pretty much on your own they don’t really give you a guide to follow if certain things happen you just wing it

    Advice to Management

Give more hours so you do not loose your teachers I’m assuming the turn over rate is high because people start because you tell them you will book them classes and still after months they are barley being booked at all almost not even worth it.

I have been working at SayABC part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I am booked for 31 out of 32 available slots a week. Any spots I don't have homerooms I currently fill with trials. I find they are responsive and a great company to work for. The homerooms I have I have had from the beginning.

    Cons

The only con is that it's not flexible and taking time off is an issue.
