Pros

Schellman & Company has a great culture and actually does care about the employees. They are always looking for ways to help out the team members with tools for work and also for our personal lives. They implemented a plan to ease the stresses that many employees as to the COVID-19 pandemic which helped reassure that my joining the firm was the right choice. Schellman & Company also care about your experiences in life, all of them and they compensate you for the experience and skillset you bring to the firm. The quarterly profit sharing is incredible and the benefits are getting better. Just recently added company paid vision benefits for the employee to a great benefits plan. The 10% match for 401K is something I didn't believe when I read it, it is a way to help catch you up in cases where you may have been a little slow to grow your retirement account. Wellness is something that is a concern and they are always looking for ways to help help out the employees and take a conscious effort for helping out charities in cases of need or where an employee has personal desire to help. Overall, coming to Schellman was the right choice for me and I am SO happy that I made the change.

Cons

With a remote team, you miss out on some of the personal interaction with other team members.

Pros

Management frequently improves benefits. Management really knows the business well. The company has historically been well insulated from economic downturns. So many opportunities to stand out and make a name for yourself

Cons

Data driven decisions still a work in progress. Long term vision is likely 1 ish year.

Pros

The people. Peers are great to work with and very supportive. Some of the leaders in the teams are as well. Perks were GREAT but have slowly been taken away or the costs went up.

Cons

Where do I begin? Wholesale executive turnover. Technology projects that we're supposed to say are awesome but aren't really that great. They take up more time to figure out than they're worth and we know those are meant to take our jobs. AI, offshore, temp labor. No thanks. It was a place I loved working at but has slowly just become a job that makes me feel like I should be watching for somewhere else to go. Just in case. The culture has changed quite a bit too. It used to feel like a place where we all wanted to work together but that's slowly fading.
