Pros

- Highly cultured, professional & down to earth top leaders - Leadership in metering domain (Outside US) with fair business practices - Great in-house tools for project management, mechanical and hardware - Great strategic road-map, growing and expanding in services and other domains - Head office, Udaipur (Pratapnagar and Bhamashah industrial area) - Quite open and green sites - Dedicated cultural and sport event management team, which also include senior management members. Encourage participation. - Dedicated social responsibility wing - Work quite effectively to root areas of society (e.g. education, environment) - Udaipur is a nice city to be in, balanced between modern and economical. Decent education and healthcare facilities.

Cons

- Yes this is true - Canteen closes on 9:20 AM, even though office timings are till 10:00 AM. So sometimes you need to work empty stomach in first half. Possibly smartest idea of some admin guy and management agreed. - Latest sheeting arrangement is awful, look like chaos, not an inch of personal space, mobile size drawer, everything is visible to each other, so cannot concentrate on your work, more noisy, not met anybody who liked it yet. Certainly going to decrease productivity and overall workplace standard. - Imagine when world is going towards open source, some persons/teams inside same organization refuses to share codes with each other. Even some persons go to the extent to discourage and ensure no-one able to match their expertise and they remains single point of contact for such jobs. All organization processes are optional for them. In such setups sometimes they themselves create panic situations to risk the business and later after escalations & hula-hoops they comes in as Rajanikant and solves everything, to emerge as master as always. And they are operating key business operations and mid-management levels. This is not true for majority, only handful are like this (observed within software development, and this is not linked to keeping business/trade secrets, because that is really important for businesses), but they are impacting the larger part and most importantly aligning the culture. People are learning from them. - Most of the toilets are really un-managed and not a good place to visit, but obviously you cannot avoid going to. - HR is not so human in nature, around 5-8 years behind the top MNCs. Least impacted by employee's need. They even not give a cab to ailing person. Most of time they are busy in changing some system e.g. Appraisal system, rating system, training feedback system. - Resource management - Employees are just excel rows. They are least bothered about skill, strength, weakness, interest area and even program requirements. Needs lots of improvements. They can allocate employee a desks even over moon. - Software as a function doesn't have significant presence in leadership, and it affect many key decisions. Those who represents it mostly don't understand its depth or width. Management needs to understand, difference between metering software and application software, those are altogether two different worlds like Hollywood and Tollywood. Lacks of specialized middle management results in some of the really stupid decisions. As company performs quite good in metering, so such things doesn't reflect on bottom line as of now. But it will surely make a difference in coming days. - Similarly software is quite in compensation and appreciation compared to other functions.

Hi, Thanks for the review. We are grateful to have some amazing people working for us. We believe that graduates can bring fresh thinking and a dynamic energy to the business and become seriously strong engineers. I am glad that you are enjoying it here. I would love to understand more about the problems with communication. We are working on this in some areas, I am assuming it is not just language skills, but listening skills, simple and visual communication and emotional connections that you feel are lacking. We are constantly striving to get all Semsites to become better at what they do. Best regards Ananya Chief - people, services, design and communications, and infrastructure
