Pros

You receive a check weekly, decent benefits (if you could use them), If you could get passes your first year and see a raise, which will come late, you will have some kind of financial relief, but exhaustion is part of your life now.

Cons

No more social life, very dangerous work environment, injuries are expected daily Note: you will be terminated if you require more than 30 days to treat for workplace injuries in some districts, NO SICK PAY, NO EXCUSED ABSENCE, micromanagement, toxic environment, no work/life balance, co-workers are very rude and play games that often times lead to you being reprimanded if you are not related to someone or friends with someone in a high position. Workday e.g. You go in at 2:37am and you get off at around 2;30pm and you get paid for around 8.4 hours out of your day. Most new operators will work the hardest lines paying the least amount of money and they will never have enough time to get out of the seat, not even to use the restroom in most cases. They expect drivers to be executive level employees while top administrators are petty, catty, and very unprofessional. Top executives have been known to be dishonest, vindictive, spiteful and often times feels like they have a God complex.

Pros

Free rides on public transit

Cons

If you come in as entry level engineer the only way to move from entry level to higher level position is to wait the prescribed number of years, which is 2.5 years, even if you came in with experience
