Pros
Its a truly global company with ambition to remain a leader in its chosen fields/geographies for another 100 years. Flexible organisation with ability to move roles every 2-4 years. Team working is the norm with virtual groups formed from around the world with common project tasks. Moving towards a greener agenda. You get to work with some really smart people, some of whom really are world class in their fields.
Cons
Its slow-moving and recognises that this is one of its main failings. You may feel constrained by its organisational lethargy. Despite frequent reorganisations every other year, decision making is slow and there are many layers to go through. There is a great deal of internal competition for roles, prestige and rankings. This often leads to focus more on internal than external competitors. The green ambition is still in its infancy and is dwarfed by the traditional carbon-intensive operations that bring in the money. There are conflicts in the short vs longer term agendas which can be frustrating.
