Pros
SimilarWeb has a truly excellent product that helps thousands of business make smart decisions. It's an amazing product to support, sell and work with on a daily basis. SimilarWeb has some of the smartest people I have worked with. Driven, inquisitive and hard-working - on the surface, it is very clear the company has lofty aspirations and seeks talented people to get them there. The company provides fantastic facilities, including a fully stocked kitchen, happy hours and tenbis. SimilarWeb is excellent at hosting incredible fun days and other company events. Whether its concerts in the desert, or winning a trip overseas as first prize in a dress up contest, they go all out to give everyone a good time.
Cons
Projects will often be killed within 6 weeks of being started if immediate results are not seen. While this can be effective for some cases, it affects both customers and employees who have dedicated time and resources to a project that is shut down on a whim. Under the surface the culture does not seem to reflect the mission statement. There are limitations for certain roles that do not apply to certain people. SimilarWeb has had a culture shift which seems to focus on the career development of young, single people. They may not state it explicitly, but the zeitgeist is "you can have a career, or a family; there is no room for both". As a result, it's not surprising that management is predominantly male. Pregnant women also seem to mysteriously disappear with men replacing them in their roles. In customer-facing departments, there has been turmoil for a while. Four different comp plans have been offered in two years with a "take it or leave it" approach. An entire sales department opened and closed within 6 months and 3 different Executives taking over the Sales department.
