Pros
Overall my experience at SMWB was generally positive in my typical day to day life. There are a lot of great people, and the product is super interesting to talk about. There are a decent amount of opportunities for growth within the company. I was promoted in about a year and the career development program is improving. The product itself is super interesting and adds a lot of value for its customers. The large suite of platforms & use cases make it very sticky to companies in almost any industry The people are truly special. With a relatively rigorous interview process, there are some incredibly smart and talented people across the entire company. The culture in the US and Burlington in particular are amazing.
Cons
Unfortunately, there are a lot of cons that come with working at Similarweb. It is abundantly clear that C-Suite does not care about its employees or employee retention. In the CEOs own words, ‘It’s an employers market’ and ‘If you want to have a good work-life balance, Similarweb is not the place to work.’ There are many companies out there that are employee first, Similarweb is not one of them. They have removed any incentive to stay at the company long term as raises are rare, and minimal when they happen. They are slowly trying to push all employees back into the office full time. While the company gives many opportunities to provide upward feedback, it has never and will never be taken into consideration. C Suite has consistently been the lowest rated section on Employee Surveys, and the CEO reads the reviews and interprets it as positive. (I can assure you it’s not) One big thing to note is that the company has tried to file complaints with Glassdoor to get poor reviews taken down, and has since flooded the site with Fake 5-Star Reviews to increase its rating. (This is well known internally as many of the profiles are of employees that don't exist.)
