Troubling lack of strategic direction. Initiatives are often performative - Associate Director Sojitz Employee Review

Pros

Employees are treated as data points, not humans. There’s little transparency, no authentic investment in growth, and a persistent disconnect between stated values and lived experience.

Cons

Leadership frequently misrepresents goals and progress, creating a culture of confusion and mistrust. Most concerning are the invasive and predatory HR practices. The company engages in remote surveillance that continues even when screens are locked or devices are muted—crossing ethical boundaries and violating employee privacy. Creepy behavior is known and ignored. This behavior fosters fear, not accountability, and erodes the psychological safety required for meaningful work. Morning events can include liquor.

Pros

Flex with daily arrival/departure times.

Cons

Unreasonable RTO- 5 days a week with no consideration for time or cost to employees. Pay is very low. Benefits are the bare minimum--it takes 5 years to earn 100% of employer 401(k) match. Blatant FAVORITISM toward expatriate staff and even more blatant EXCLUSION of all other staff. Fake Paid Maternity Leave - they pay only after state benefits and disability payments. No appreciation/recognition for development; "claw back" on education contributions if you leave so they hold you hostage. Company events are biased and prejudice--they only honor Asian and Hispanic events. but do not honor Black History Month, Women's History Month etc. and in very poor taste. No chance for growth/development/advancement.
