Pros
- Work can be very interesting and important - Lots of opportunity to grow and advance your skills - Amazing 401k contribution (said to be 2% quarterly contribution of your salary but it seemed like it was a lot more) - Up to date work computers - Work schedule where you work your own hours
Cons
- Too much is hidden by needing security clearance which makes work extremely frustrating because a lot of details that may be needed is hidden - People don't really talk a lot to each other within teams. This again, is mostly due to the security clearance closing people off from one another - Not a lot of connections to be made within the team. I didn't know who the product owner was until weeks in and even then, no communication with anyone above the team lead - No idea who is who in management - Limited growth in salary. Talking to the veterans there, consistent 5% increase, but rarely do you get a big increase in salary unless you get a big promotion. On top of the salary just being a mere slightly below average, not very appealing to stay at the company long
