Pros

Close(ish) to the underground station. Upon joining Source, it was highly collaborative agency and a nice place to work but unfortunately this all changed. I had some lovely colleagues which made life more bearable and Source had some fun incentive trips abroad, but realistically these trips didn't cover the low salary and were generally a cover up for their low commission scheme.

Cons

In a 2-year period working at Source I saw over 150 different recruiters start and leave the company. This was highly disruptive and a large turnover of staff considering the company only ever had a maximum of 45 people working there. Managers would secretly escort the staff they've sacked out of the back door and later make up outlandish stories as to why different recruiters had been sacked instead of managers holding their hands up and admitting they had maybe hired the wrong person for the position (which was often the case). The collaborative teams were split up and the less collaborative environment ended up having a negative effect on our billings as other recruitment agencies we were up against worked collaboratively as a team. We were consistently given hope that things would change and additional staff would be hired for our team, but these false promises didn't ever materialise and I feel staff were often being taken advantage of. Source were very good at telling staff what they want to hear, but the constant false hope created an un-motivating atmosphere and meant staff were often forced to look for a new role to progress in a career as a professional recruiter. Learning the ropes also wasn't a fun experience. I was often told to post fake job ads to make the agency look busier than it was, I was asked to find out where my candidates where interviewing so Source knew which agencies were recruiting and could directly approach those businesses for their roles, and I was told to take references with candidates as a business development tool to bring on new clients as opposed to actually taking a solid reference to help my candidates find a role. Promotions with Source weren't great experiences either. In my experience staff are offered the bare minimum that some of that level could be offered. This happens consistantly across the business and is soul distroying when you know you're billing the company good money. It's another thing that makes consultants feel super undervalued, and Source constantly take advantage of staff in this way.
