Pros

-The people who work there genuinely care about finding you the best possible job placement for. Kathe and Josh are two of the most competent staffing recruiters I've ever worked with. -They understand that your success is directly related to their success, and treat you like a human being. Sometimes it takes a while for them to place you, but that's because they're making sure that the position they place you in is a good fit. -You are paid weekly as long as you submit your time sheets on time. Sometimes pay will come in on Thursday instead of Friday, which is an added bonus. I would have been happy to continue working with Staffmark, but was offered full time employment with the company I was placed with.

Cons

There's no PTO or holiday pay until after 1,250 hours of employment, which can be a bummer if you're placed somewhere with frequent paid holidays. Your office will be closed, and you won't be paid for it. Some of the clients that they'd tried to place me with were a little flaky, and would just forget to call me for interviews, or decide on a different candidate without ever even calling me. That's more of a con with temping as a whole, and not necessarily the fault of Staffmark. While the pay is generally fair for the assignment, I had the unfortunate opportunity to actually see what the company I was placed with was paying for my services.... and it hurt my feelings! They were taking a very significant portion of

Pros

They offer health, dental, vision, life, disability insurance as a temp. If not hired on by company within first 180 days, they start giving you PTO and Holiday pay. Hiring process is extremely quick and easy. First place I never needed a resume to work at. Background check is easy to pass as long as you don’t have a violent criminal history. Can work up to 4 hours overtime at my job site every day except Saturdays they aren’t open but sometimes the offer overtime hours on that day if there is a need for it/enough people to work for it. Ability to advance in the company quickly into new roles if interested and showing promise.

Cons

My work assignment is in a non-climate controlled manufacturing facility. Long hours on your feet.

Pros

There are strong individual contributors across the organization who genuinely care about their clients and candidates. The business itself has market opportunity, especially in industrial staffing, and there is potential to build something meaningful with the right strategy and execution.

Cons

Leadership lacks alignment between stated goals and actual execution. There is a clear disconnect between the vision communicated during hiring and the day-to-day expectations in role. In some instances, employees are placed in situations where they are asked to engage in practices that raise ethical and, at times, legal concerns. This creates an uncomfortable and high-risk working environment, particularly for those who prioritize compliance and professional integrity. Despite discussions around evolving the business toward higher-margin, relationship-driven growth, the operating model continues to default back to transactional “fill and bill” activity. Efforts to introduce more strategic structure, improve efficiency, and modernize workflows are often dismissed or labeled as unnecessary. There is also inconsistency in how policies and code of conduct are applied, which creates a perception of unfair and selective enforcement. This impacts trust, morale, and overall team performance. Additionally, there is an over-reliance on outdated sales approaches that do not reflect how modern workforce solutions are built or sustained in today’s market.
