Pros

1. Strong benefits package — As a major health insurer, Cigna offers competitive health, dental, and vision coverage, along with solid 401(k) matching and wellness perks that are genuinely above average for the industry. 2. Remote and hybrid flexibility — Many roles offer work-from-home options, which provides a good work-life balance and cuts down on commute time significantly.

Cons

1. Bureaucratic decision-making — Being a large corporation, getting anything approved or changed can involve layers of process and slow-moving leadership, which can be frustrating if you’re used to a faster-paced environment. 2. Limited upward mobility — Career advancement can feel stagnant depending on your department, with promotions often tied more to tenure and internal politics than performance

Pros

The Cigna Group overall is a fantastic company to work for! They invest in their employees and do a great job ensuring everyone, in all departments/locations/teams feel as if they matter with the multitude of perks they offer to employees. Many team members were knowledgeable, hardworking, and genuinely committed to supporting the healthcare industry.

Cons

While employed at Cigna healthcare, I experienced a work environment that often lacked consistent communication, balanced workload distribution, and transparent leadership practices. High-performing employees were frequently expected to absorb additional responsibilities without corresponding support, while shifting expectations and excessive micromanagement created unnecessary stress and instability. Over time, this impacted morale, trust within teams, and overall employee well-being.
