Pros
The start-ups that TiVO bought have some lingering people that are fighting for innovation and still put the customer first. They do a great job at branding and PR so they always appear to be a positive forward thinking company. There is still a lot of potential for the various products.
Cons
Make no mistake, this is an IP company. They are dishonest in many ways- to their employees, clients and partners. I saw first-hand how they encouraged their leaders to stretch the truth, even within their own team. It's a toxic environment and its sad to think that they hardly do the right thing when it comes to their employees. The worst management you can imagine- no direction, no transparency, extremely political. Many very unhappy employees and managers that don't know anything about leading teams. Employees live in a constant state of paranoia they they will lose their job or that people are lobbying against them. No diversity in management so expect to report to wealthy Caucasian men.
