Pros

The people are great and I have nothing to say about that. With that being said Toolots is in over its head big time. There are blatantly clear operational voids that are not being addressed. They are a “Tech Startup” and up until a couple months ago had no developers in the office. I write this as a warning but Toolots is a top heavy organization with no real captain.

Cons

Imagine being out on a ship in the middle of the ocean at the dead of night with a captain that has little ability to lead or motivate the crew to get home. Now imagine that same boat has a hole or in Toolots case many holes, but instead of asking for or taking help from your crew the captain starts throwing people overboard simply for trying new ideas. That is Toolots except before getting thrown overboard you will be publicly berated. In short Toolots is a Chinese company with a US office to show there Chinese investors. In reality they are using US companies to build their credibility to sell cheap and unreliable Chinese products into the United States.

Pros

Leadership lacks clear vision and consistency; major initiatives are frequently dropped or reversed without explanation. Extremely high turnover, especially in marketing, operations, and sales—creates instability and morale issues. Top-down communication is poor; decisions are often made behind closed doors and delivered without context. Resistance to industry best practices in CRM and digital strategy; innovation is talked about but rarely implemented. Toxic work culture at times—favoritism, micromanagement, and lack of accountability are common.

Cons

Toxic leadership: The executive team is disorganized, combative, and often engages in unprofessional behavior, including public reprimands and micromanagement. No clear business strategy exists, only knee-jerk reactions and top-down mandates. No respect for expertise: Experienced professionals are hired, then ignored or overridden by leadership with little to no domain knowledge. Input is routinely dismissed. Constant turnover: Departments are routinely gutted. Expect to see multiple roles replaced within months, often without explanation. HR lacks structure and consistency. Zero accountability: Poor decisions are never owned by leadership. Blame is pushed down the ladder. Culture of fear: Mistakes (real or perceived) are met with excessive scrutiny, sometimes public humiliation. Collaboration is limited by a lack of psychological safety. Poor systems & outdated tech: The CRM, ERP, and digital infrastructure are a patchwork of broken systems and workarounds. Efficiency is nonexistent. No career path: Growth is not based on merit or performance—only favoritism or loyalty to specific individuals. You won’t be mentored or developed here.
