Pros

- Remote work flexibility - Passionate colleagues who care about education - Decent raise at annual performance review

Cons

- Leadership shift toward a rigid, corporate culture (former Amazon management) - Clique dynamics that hinder collaboration and fairness - Management tends to push problems back on individual contributors and expect them to fix it - Individual contributors expected to take on management-level tasks and used for promotion eligibility on top of their normal work - Understaffed teams and workloads beyond role descriptions - Disorganized product management with unrealistic turnaround expectations - Poor work-life balance. Software launch was pushed at a time in the Summer when management knows most employees take PTO. - Conflict-heavy environment; advancement often depends on alliances - Layoffs every 6 months framed as “restructuring,” creating instability and competition - UX leadership provides little advocacy for the team - Product is number one, then engineering, then UX (ex. UX makes tickets for products now because product and engineering said that it's too much for them)
