Pros
There are some highly knowledgable professionals that work at Victor. Also, the employees genuinely care about supporting kids and the community. Director and management make an effort to be transparent re: finances, and attempts to build a fun company culture. The SART program (early intervention program for kids aged 0-7) has some great aspects, including an interdisciplinary assessment team.
Cons
Very disorganized. Training is confusing, as there is a lack of agreed upon protocols and best practices used--everyone is doing something different! Management is very reactive (i.e. regularly switching clinicians between teams and transferring cases around in response to short-term changes in billing levels). There is a lot of emphasis placed around service percentage (i.e. how much clinicians are billing), but a lack of effort to ensure quality of care/therapeutic services, and a lack of support for clinicians and rehab staff. Clinicians can expect heavy caseloads, made up of mainly high-needs kids in foster care. Therapeutic services are often problematic--not trauma-informed, aimed at "fixing" behavior, and perpetuate oppressive dynamics.
