Organization spent millions of dollars on consulting, laying off 500+ midlevel managers under the guise of "fewer layers" and subsequently hired more upper leadership to replace the layers and put additional strain on the remaining midlevel management by doubling headcount. Their strategy is offshore service and AI at a lightning speed with a lack of thoughtful planning, leading to negative experience for teams and management alike. Working cross-functionally is inefficient and other departments often don't have the same culture/strong communication found within the team.
