Pros

Good work/life balance, nobody push you to work more than you want

Cons

The system is outdated and highly politicized. It is difficult to launch anything new or promising because the effort rarely pays off. Any "new and shiny" strategy eventually dissolves into a sea of a million random functions. Somehow, this chaotic pool continues to function, and outperforming it requires making a genuine difference. However, that is nearly impossible because the status quo satisfies the majority: produce the same random noise year after year, avoid stepping on toes, and you will be fine. The infrastructure is deeply inefficient. There is no appetite for improving performance, speed, resource consumption, or usability because those metrics aren't visible to management. It is considered far better to simply build another useless AI tool with a fancy name and zero impact.

Pros

Opportunity to work with extremely bright and driven colleagues. Strong emphasis on technology and data-driven decision-making. Competitive compensation packages and great office perks in the Austin tech hub.

Cons

The workload can be intense with high expectations for delivery. The proprietary nature of the work means using many in-house tools rather than industry-standard open source. Can feel siloed depending on which specific project or team you are assigned to.
