Pros
Generally speaking, it's a nice bunch of people at the London office. Pay is reasonable, although a little inconsistent in some areas.
Cons
The straw that broke the camels back for me, and the reason I'm now looking to leave, was the vision for the London office outlined by senior management in a meeting recently. Operating it like a "car showroom", where customers come to place their orders in a shiny London office, and we then send it off to India to be produced, is not what any of the engineers here want to be hearing. Particularly given the dreadful quality and reliability issues we have experienced on multiple workshares over recent years. As someone with a good 20 years left to work, my future here and all the commitment and enthusiasm I have previously shown, evaporated when I heard this. Things like the lack of training and development opportunities, lack of pay increases, unpaid bonuses etc... are now sources of resentment, where I have previously ignored them. In the interests of completeness, I should also flag up the general incompetency of the senior management. They failed to keep up with the rapid growth of the company during the 2000s, and simply threw money about to fix problems rather than developing solutions and managing them. As a result, now things are not so rosy and their isn't money to throw about, they're drowning in their own mismanagement. I'm not convinced any of them are actually suitably experienced to fill the positions they hold.
